Hunyuan Taichi Baton (混元太极棒)
|

What is [Hunyuan Taichi Baton] all about?
Hun Yuan Tai Chi Baton is a new introductory course designed to
initiate the members of the third age into the mainstream Hun Yuan
Tai Chi training. The Hun Yuan Baton course addresses the most
common issues faced by first time attempters of Tai Chi.
Some of the key problems faced by first timers being weak
psychomotor coordination, difficulties in remembering complex steps
in mainstream Tai Chi classes, difficulties in keeping up with the
movements due weak muscles owing to the lack of constant exercise
and so on. According to our surveys, these problems are
coincidentally the main reasons why many first timers give up Tai
chi practices too early to fully reap the benefits of the exercise.
Over fifteen years in coaching, Ms May Tan had been actively seeking
new ways to shorten the learning curve and help students overcome
the abovementioned problems so that more can persist in this sport.
She designed the simplified 12 steps Taichi system which showed
great success through the higher retention rate of students after
comparing with the figures before the introduction of the new
system.
The new Hunyuan Tai Chi Baton system has shown much potential
through our various internal trials with first time students. It has
shown to be an enhancement and complement to our 12 step system
introduction system. Not only did the student retention rate
increase after the implementation. The usual 6 months to 9 months
duration period needed to get a student used to Tai Chi training is
shorten to around 3 months to 6 months.
With these findings, we intend to introduce this course with focus
on the members of the third age. The 10 sessions course will cover
all the grounds needed for the beginners to equip themselves with
the psychomotor coordination, muscular strength as well as Hun Yuan
Tai Chi knowledge so that they can smoothly transit into our main
stream Tai Chi course. |
